Phonics is taught daily in school through the Read Write Inc scheme but needs to be continually practised and applied. Below are some useful videos that emphasise the importance of saying the sounds correctly and for you to see how blending is taught in school.

How can I help at home?
There are lots of simple things you can do at home to help your child learn to read.
- Use flashcards to help your child learn how to blend sounds to read words (watch the 'How to blend' video as a guide)
